Ann was quite pleased to see him so thrilled about shopping for new clothes. It was cute, too, seeing someone so quiet open up little by little. She resembled Akira in a lot of ways, in fact. She giggled cheerfully when he approved of the outfit she picked out for him. “Alright, take your time!” While she was waiting outside the fitting room, she wondered if she could buy something nice for herself as well. She had the funds for it, having gotten paid just the other day, so it wasn’t a problem at all, even if he insisted he did it instead later on.
She could hear him complimenting himself too, meaning that he loved it on him. Once he stepped out, the blonde smiled at him once more and scanned him carefully, arms folded across her chest. “Hmm… yep, just like I thought! A perfect outfit for you! You look great, Saihara-kun! You can buy it if it’s that special to you! Is there anything else that catches your eye? Maybe a new hat?” She suggested, cocking her head to the side.
“Oh, and just to let you know: I’m paying for everything today, so don’t be shy!” She added gleefully.
“H-Hehe, you think so? Thank you…! I have your great taste in fashion to thank.” His smile brightens at her praise. Going clothes shopping with a friend… It really was fun. Especially with someone as bright and kind as Ann; whether she may know it or not, that alone was helping him not be as nervous or shy than he normally would be, trying on clothes he often doesn’t wear. “Yes…. I think I will buy this. As for anything else, um…oh? Ah, a new hat does sound nice… if I find one, or you see one you think I may like… I may just get it.”
Though at her exclamation shell pay for everything, his eyes widen. “Ah? E… Everything? Are you sure?! I could not possibly impose…!”
He was already so grateful that Ann wanted to buy clothes for him. He’d just feel so bad if she was spending even more, on top of that… but he also didn’t want to seem as if he had a genuine problem with her offering to pay for everything. He really is grateful, for how sweet she’s being…
“B… But if you truly don’t mind… Then thank you, Takamaki-san. You really are so kind; I’ll try not to find anything that’s especially expensive… However, I still insist on buying you dessert later! And any other way I can repay you, I’ll happily do so.
"Ku..." *mondo looks incredibly pissed as he stares at the cards in his hand, his gaze shifting between it, the game board, and his bro right in front of him! somehow he was convinced to play a tabletop where the players try to guess the murderer, how they did it, and in which room, but mondo's at a complete loss despite trying his best! suddenly he looks away while there's a huge scowl on his face, his foot thumping against the floor in annoyance!*
"I have no fuckin' clue! All these clues an' testimonies an' shit don't make any sense! Nothing is addin' up, it's just one mystery leadin' into other mysteries! Are you sure there's actually a way to beat this thing?!"
Shuichi was honestly still surprised that he was able to convince Mondo to play this mystery tabletop game with him. He knew this wasn’t Mondo’s kind of thing at all, but he was genuinely curious to see how well he’d do at this. Though as he watches the biker get increasingly angry, he could tell that….maybe this wasn’t a very good idea…
With a sheepish smile, he gets out of his seat, so he can lean over and rub his shoulder. “N-Now, now, Mondo, calm down… don’t let yourself get too frustrated, or you won’t be able to think clearly. It’s just like mysteries in real life, right? Everything sounds so confusing, a lot of things will not seemingly make sense at first; but as you go through the evidence and testimony, and slowly piece things together; everything will gradually begin to make sense. So yes, I’m positive this is solvable; in fact, I’ve already got a pretty good idea on who the true culprit is after finding out the murder method and location, and re-reading the testimonies to determine who was the only possible person to match with both. So, I know you’ve got this, Mondo! You’re smarter than you give yourself credit for. Just cool your head, think about everything your cards are informing you about, and then you’ll start to see things make sense. I’ll be more than happy to provide small hints, if that helps, too.”
also catch me crying over him referring to her as a puppy boi if u said that to her face she WOULD hit you………… not blushing at all whaaaaat (she’ll process her emotions healthily one day…. one day)
HEHEHE ❤️ He thinks she’s a feral, GGCHC but cute puppy, okay!!! OH YEAH HE KNOWS, THAT’S WHY HE DEFINITELY WOULDN’T SAY THAT TO HER FACE. Even if he’d think her blushing would be so cute…something he also wouldn’t say out loud until he’s ready to get launched in the sky GGFGFH but yes….one day….and until then, Shuichi will help her as best as he can!!!! 💖
Absolutely zoomied out, she is just resting her whole body against the detective and is practically out cold ...... until she feels him shift around to get comfy and her immediate reaction is to bite him on the ear and literally crawl off-
“…!” When he felt extra weight against him, he freezes in shock as his eyes dart over to look at Iako. “Ah….” He gasps softly, a light red dusting his cheeks. Not that he minds this at all. If she could feel comfortable enough to sleep against him like this, then he wouldn’t want to disrupt her from her sleep. (“Falling asleep after being so hyperactive…she really is a puppy.”) He jokingly thinks to himself with a smile. And for a fraction of a second thought… her sleeping face looks kind of adorable…
And while he did not wish to stir even the slightest, the side she was laying against, did feel a bit stiff since he hadn’t adjusted it more comfortably, prior. And so, as carefully as he could, he shifted his body ever so slightly to indeed get a bit more comfortable. Though it looked like it woke her up, in which he was about to whisper: “Ah, sorr-EEEEEEE?!?!”
….Until she bit his ear, which instead made a loud yelp leave him, instead. “O-Ow?! Why!! Also, w…wait, Iako-san! I-I didn’t mean to wake you up, I was just-!!” So much for a soft moment, he thought to himself….
“Are you threatening me?! Also, I feel like you’re the one I should worry about collapsing the fort. Iako-san.” He squints, his snarky tone mostly joking. Relaxing with a blanket fort with Iako, was definitely something Shuichi would normally never anticipate, when considering how often they get along; which isn’t…often at all….but maybe, just maybe: this can be the night they actually do bond…? Despite some of the mean things she’s done to him, Shuichi would rather they become actual friends..
“A-Anyway… I can assume you this blanket fort will not collapse. I gave it one good check after we finished building it, just to make extra sure of that. S… So let’s be friends and actually get along and have fun…okay? Please.”
AHH HI MY LOVELIES , I JUST WANTED TO SAY I’M SORRY FOR BEING A LOT SLOWER WITH REPLIES/MESSAGES LATELY, AND THAT I HOPE YOU’RE ALL HAVING A VERY NICE DAY AND OVERALL WEEKEND!!! ☀️💖 *HUGS YOU ALL!!!*
“Really? You were hoping to do all of this with me…?” Kaede chuckled, then she smiled fondly. She adored Shuichi, she truly did. And even when they came here for laughs originally, it seemed as any good a moment as it was now to give in to their feelings and follow how it went. And to hear him wanting and waiting for the right moment to become intimate with her, it was clear he had been thinking about sharing it with her for some time. Surely boys who thought of perverted things like this would be common, but Kaede already knew it wasn’t like that of Shuichi…but there could be a possibility he must have had a few thoughts of her like this and that had finally come true. Even seeing him confess and hide his face away against her shoulder was clear enough that he must have when he hoped things would go like this.
“Oh Shuichi…you’re just too cute.” Kaede chuckled, her fingers gently combing through his hair to comfort and planted a kiss on his head. “I’m glad you’re really happy too. We can take our time and enjoy things here…even if you have some kind of fantasy too.” she teased. “But no matter what, it’s going to feel special regardless.” She sat herself up then, giving her body a little bit of a stretch as he would turn to find the ‘essentials’ nearby. “…I wonder, you must have had some dirty thoughts about me anyway, right?~” Kaede giggled.
“Y…Yes.” Kaede’s reaction to his confession of that, couldn’t had made him more relieved. But he knew he didn’t have to be terrified of her taking it badly. If so, she more than likely wouldn’t had felt comfortable doing this with Shuichi yet to begin with. That’s why… he felt okay to tell her this.
“E-Ehehe…” He giggles shyly at that 'cute’ comment, and hums softly at the feel of her fingers combing through his hair and forehead kiss. “Yes…. let’s continue doing just that.” A warm smile adorns his face, if not slightly faltering in embarrassment at her teasing statement. “H-Hey! Hahah…. but yes, that’s right. It will feel special…. because it’s with you.” Once she sat up, Shuichi began making his way closer to the drawer. “Ah-” Her actually asking him about the dirty thoughts he must have had of her, made the hand that was about to inspect the drawer, come to an abrupt halt. Actually going into detail about that would make him extremely flustered, but he was sure he could also tell her without any worries… and so with a meek nod, he answers: “Y……Yes….. a-ah, of course: only after I fell for you, did these thoughts occur!! And also only when I was in…. that kind of mood, did my mind wander. Often imagining….how nice it would be, when we’re in a room alone, simply hanging out and having fun. And in the heat of the moment, we begin kissing each other passionately wh-while I…touch you. And as it slowly getting more and more intense until we…d-do it. Imagining how ni…hot you would sound, I couldn’t help but shamelessly indulge in those thoughts, until I finally snap out of it. I… I hope that is not creepy… you’re the only person I’ve ever had those kind of thoughts about. Kaede…”
While Sonia was anything but offended or upset, his outburst of surprise was a little stunning. In general, the culture she found herself in was much more reserved than her own, and thus far, the boy seemed to fit that bill fairly well. Regardless, after the momentary shock wears off, she’s back to a polite smile. “It is no worry,”she shakes her head. “I know that I do not always give the impression at first, but I am indeed of noble blood,” she reaffirms. After all, how many princesses were so deeply invested in fictional media that they brought it up with complete strangers? (None, her family and friends back home had assured her.) “My country is very small, located in the Black Sea, just south of Ukraine—so it is not a surprise that you have not heard of it.” Almost no one had.
What does come in astonishment is that he, too, is a student at Hope’s Peak; she covers her lips with her palm. “Oh, my, really? We are classmates then! I am two years ahead of you, meaning you are my ‘kohai’!” What a wonderful coincidence! A little giggle resounds; she can’t help but feel a bit giddy. “Until today, you have never met a real princess, and I have never met a real detective. Perhaps that means we were meant to cross paths, don’t you think? Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Detective,” she repeats, as if taking a moment to get acquainted with his denomination. After a moment, she nods in certitude. “Yes, I have decided that we were fated to meet today!” Holding up her arm, she flexes, putting her other palm to her bicep. The Ultimate Detective and the Ultimate Princess; that had a nice ring to it! “It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”
“If I am being honest,” her voice grows a touch more gentle as she relaxes, a gratified feeling warming her heart, “it relieves me in a way, that you did not think of me as different. At the end of the day, I am a regular girl, like anyone our age. Please continue to think of me simply as your peer, and, actually, if you are not against the idea, I was hoping I may be able to talk to you more,” the way she speaks is more reserved now, or perhaps shy, a stark contrast to how overbearing she’d been at the start of the conversation. “You see, I often feel like I am, as they say, a ‘fish out of water’, and I, myself… am not always confident either,” she confesses. “But, already, you have had a great many things to say that interest me, and I feel comfortable in your presence,” (was it his endearing awkwardness, or his demure manner of outgoing?) “and, well, I suppose what I am saying, Detective Saihara… is that I am wondering if you would like to be ‘friends’?”
Shuichi was relieved to hear that Sonia was not offended by his surprised reaction. He had a feeling there was something interesting about her, but her being a real life princess was the last thing he ever expected. “Ahh… oh, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I can only imagine how stressful it’d be if everyone could tell right away that you see a princess…” It’s why he thought she was a normal girl at first. Something he wanted to say out loud, but was not sure if it would be considered rude to say to a princess… As she tells him about where her country is located, he gives an intrigued hum. “I see… now I’m curious to learn more about it. It sounds like it must be a very interesting place.”
At her surprise when finding out that they’re classmates, he gives a small nod and a brighter smile. “Yeah! What a nice surprise, Sonia, ah…senpai!” At her declaration and pose, he gives a small chuckle. Her bubbliness really does rub off on him, but he didn’t mind that at all. It made their conversation feel relaxing, feel fun. “Ehehe…. yeah, I suppose it was fate, huh? And likewise… may we get along well.”
At her gratitude he didn’t treat her any differently, and her hope that they can continue talking, made a warm smile adorns his face. “….You got it. To me, you’re Sonia, the regular girl. And of course you can; in fact, I was also looking forward to us talking more often, too. I know I probably come off as awkward, but… I’m having a nice time. So.. I hope I’ll be able to help you feel more confident, too, by just letting you know that you can just….be yourself around me.” And he truly meant it. Sonia wouldn’t have to act prim and proper around him as, like he said, and as she stated: here, she is a normal girl, not a princess. She even felt comfortable in his presence, already… something that made him feel happier than he expected. He doesn’t think he’s ever made a friend this fast… and also be comfortable with someone, this fast. “I… I-I’m happy to hear that! Same to you: you’re a very interesting person as well. And I usually don’t do so well talking this much with people I’ve just met, but… I already find it easy, to be able to talk to you. It’s nice…. and you don’t even have to ask, of course we can be. In fact, I I'malready consider you a friend. So please, just call me ‘Shuichi.’ Since we’re friends….!”
To start, I am semi-selective and private, meaning that I may be just a tad picky with who I decide to follow back and that I am mutuals only. So, if we are not mutuals, please do not like starter calls/respond to opens/send in ic asks with the intent to turn them into threads. Only my mutuals can do these things!
Please be patient and do not pressure me to reply! Sometimes a thread is either: in the drafts/I lost muse for it/or I simply do not feel like responding at the time. It almost might be that I did not notice your reply because Tumblr notifications suck, so after 5 days, you can remind me once about a thread! Other than that, try not to be impatient!
I am multiship/crossover/OC friendly! Even if I might not know much about your fandom at all, I still try to give mostly everyone a chance! I also very happily welcome duplicates, I crave them twin AUs, okay... As for shipping, I am a very big lover of shipping, so if you might want to ship Shuichi with your muse, tell me about it! But on the off chance I may not see them in a romantic light, please be willing to understand! There also has to be chemistry before a ship can work out, too!
I am so down for pre-established relationships! Trust me, I understand the feeling of wanting to just bypass the first meeting stuff and have them already be friends! So if you want our muses to already know each other, tell me about it! ☆
I am of age, and so is Shuichi by default, so NSFW is a possibility; however, I will only thread it with muns and muses that are 18+ and who I feel comfortable enough to do this with. Also, Shuichi and your muse would have to be very, very close in their relationship, for him to be comfortable enough for that.
If you ever want to continue a thread from an ask or meme prompt, go right ahead!! All I ask is that you move your reply to a new text post and tag me in it, since I dislike having the ask box following the thread around. But if you don’t know how to do that, then I’ll do it: otherwise, please move the reply to a new text post !
This blog is not spoiler-free, just so you know! While I did follow the English localization of the game, I also use the Japanese version too when it comes to how he wil refer to your muse [surname with honorifics]! I will happily use either/or, and will go along with what you prefer!
I especially direct this to personals and non-mutuals, but to everyone in general: please do not reblog threads that do not involve you. It messes up my activity and then others might think it's okay to reblog it, when an rp thread is only allowed to be reblogged between me and my witing partner. If it happens once, I politely ask you to delete it. If it happens constantly or you don't delete it when I ask, then I will block you. So yes, let's try to avoid doing this!
And I believe that is all for now: thank you for reading! ✩

17-19 Talent Development Plan Class 79th student/Ultimate Detective
The primary verse that will be used. This takes place during Talent Development Plan, a despairless verse where he attends Hope's Peak Academy with the v3 and other games' crew, perfect for crossover interactions and interactions in a normal setting in general.
Takes place during the killing game between chapters 1-6. Shuichi and the others are trapped in the school, everyone being forced to kill each other. As he works to gain more confidence in his skills, he will try to escape out of there with his friends.
In this verse, the killing never happened. Instead, Shuichi and the others are trapped in a 'reality dating show'; in other words, everyone is alive and well, making this ideal to interact with the others v3 kids if still trapped in the dome, but not for a killing game.
Takes place during the pregame universe, where he exists as Seiichi Sugihara. Seiichi is a very shy and anxious boy that suffers from severe depression, struggling to find many things in life that truly make him happy; save for detective genres and especially the popular anime, Danganronpa.
Whenever he rambles about it, he practically goes into "Fanboy Mode" and becomes far more talkative and excited, having an unhealthy obession with it and even wishes to audition for the 53rd season for the role of "Ultimate Detective", so that he can become the first Ultimate Detective to be the blackened.
A modern world where Danganronpa/Hope's Peak/doesn't exist; Shuichi is just a regular high school boy. He still lives with his uncle here, but is not a detective, himself; though he still likes to help out around his uncle's agency however he can.
(Spring Field is his default high school, but I could also slap him in other high schools for convinience sakes!)
17-19 Twins Class 79th Student/Ultimate Detective [or his talentswaps]
Verse that will be used when interacting with other Shuichi's, along with also taking place in the Talent Development V. By default, he is the older brother, though I do not mind playing him as the younger one, depending on each different twin. 'Satoru' will be his name in this au, if the other twin's name is still 'Shuichi.' This verse can also be used with pregame versions as well!
21 Coffee Shop Hewai Coffee House barista/Tokyo University student
In a modern world, Shuichi is a college student that attends Tokyo University, majoring in Creative Writing. He also works part-time at his uncle's cafe, Hewai Coffeehouse.

Before his parents died, they had a knight bring him to safety in Midori Village, being raised by his aunt and uncle. This would drive him to have his uncle teach him to use a bow and arrow.
Once he felt he was skilled enough to use a bow and arrow, the archer sets out to officially travel to different lands and towns at the age of 16, his horse Mea being his trustworthy companion.
This is the same universe as fantasy AU, except: Itta Kingdom was never destroyed and Shuichi grew up to become the prince he was meant to be. Fated to become the kingdom's future king, he studies hard to gain the skills needed to become a worthy one.

Shuichi is a young detective that works at the L.A.P.D. [Los Angeles Police Department]. He is skilled enough to investigate crime scenes as the head detective alongside a prosectuor, but he usually tends to aid the older skilled detectives at the office or at the crime scenes with them.
Ever since he was a child, Shuichi loved to read. He'd much rather spend time alone reading than playing with other kids and even sometimes would try staying up late to read. He was already reading at a higher level than most kids his age because of this. Eventually, Shuichi would try writing his own stores, which were usually small one-shots and drabbles.
At the age of 14, Shuichi would come to write and publish his very first book: The Great Junior Detective. The book would come to fly off the shelves almost immediately, being said to be one of the best titles in the mystery genre in Japan. Even well known authors would come to greatly admire Shuichi's work. From then on, he would come to produce many more well written titles and win multiple writing competetions, eventually having the boy scouted by Hope's Peak under the title 'Ultimate Novelist.'
His uncle being a composer and aunt a piano tutor; when he was younger, Shuichi would love to sit on the piano bench alongside either of them and hear them play it. This would make him grow interested in wanting to learn how to play the piano as well, so he took lessons from both of them on how to play the keys, read music sheets, etc. The more he learned and played: the more this ignited Shuichi's love for the piano.
At 15, Shuichi would be encouraged to enter his first piano recital: an international one where many skilled pianists would play. Nervous beyond belief as he was; Shuichi would still manage to leave the audience in awe at his wonderous piano playing. A sea of applause rained down on him and he won the contest. And future contest he particpated in, Shuichi would still manage to completely blow people away with his playing. Hope's Peak would come to eventually scout the boy, under the title of 'Ultimate Pianist.'
Seigi:an organization consisting of 8 vigilantes, including their leader: Shuichi. Him and his group of close friends grew sick of how incompetent authority could be, feeling as if the terrible actions some people commit are gotten away with because they do not put in the amount of effort they feel they should. And so; this crew will take manners into their own hands and serve justice themselves, even if some of their methods may be questionable from a lawful standard.
Shuichi has caught and apprehened criminals of all kinds, even some who are incredibly dangerous and that even the police couldn't touch. Because it was mostly his astound leadership skills that have made almost every mission the group take on end in success, and even if they disguise themselves with kitsune masks and use codenames to refer to each other with: Hope's Peak would still come to scout Shuichi under the title of 'Ultimate Supreme Leader', much to his dismay. He still, however: keeps his organization and his identity as the leader behind the 'mysterious group of vigilantes' a secret from others with very few exceptions.
Shuichi is a fairly tall boy with neck-length black hair with an ahoge and gambogeish gray eyes, along with very pale skin. For the most part, he wears a pinstripe pants and jacket and a white dress shirt underneath. He also used to always wear a black baseball cap, worn in a way that obscured his vision due to a past fear of looking others in the eye. Now, he primarily goes without it, though still might wear it on occasion.
Interests
One of Shuichi's primary interests is reading. Novels are his most favorite, along with favoring the genres of mystery/suspense/adventure; though as long as the story has a very good plot, Shuichi is willing to read most genres [aside from graphic horror and tragedy, though].
Favorite Food & Drinks: Gyoza, ramen, omurice, onigiri, grilled seafood, steamed rice, tempura, coffee, and tea [favorite flavors being oolong and green tea]. Favorite kind of flavor is umami, with his least favorite being spicy.
Favorite Places: His bedroom, libraries, cafes, the park, his uncle's detective agency, and the downtown area of the city, especially at night.
Personality
Shuichi can be considered an introvert, at best. He is quiet, shy, and usually pretty reserved around those he does not know that well; however, even he can be blunt and sassy when he wants to, usually in a joking matter unless he's annoyed. He is also very friendly and caring, always more than willing to help a friend or anyone in general in need.
Befitting of a detective, he is intelligent, intuitive, honest, and serious. Though, his lack of self-confidence at times makes him fail to see how truly capable he is of being a skilled detective, but overtime, he breaks out of that weak shell more and begins to believe in himself and his skills.
Abilities
Shuichi has the talent of Ultimate Detective, after having the ability to solve a murder case even before the police did. Even before he earned the title, Shuichi has many traits suitable for a detective: he does not see things in a 'black-and-white' view, has a compassionate nature, a keen eye, and great deduction skills with a high intuition. Even for as shy as he can be, this makes Shuichi capable of befriend even the most contrast of people in terms of personality.
Biography
Shuichi has lived with his uncle and aunt longer than he has with his parents, as his mother is a screenwriter and his father is an actor. Due to the emotional negligence he suffered from his parents due to them not being more involved in his life as they should be, he has a negative relationship with them, preferring to not having to talk about them. As thanks to his uncle for raising him, Shuichi began helping at his detective agency.
In truth, Shuichi did not originally have an interest in becoming a detective, but it was because he helped out with cases, that he gained the abilities of one. His first unofficial case was helping a classmate of his by finding her pet alligator, even going as far as to learn to climb mountains, swim through rivers, and do a lot of research on how to do so.
The first murder case he helped with, he actually managed to solve himself before even the police could; however, this case would traumatize Shuichi, as the killer looked at him with such malice and hatred in his eyes. When learning the circumstances behind the reason the man killed the victim, the amount of guilty and regret for solving the case would bring Shuichi to have a fear of revealing the truth, along with now using the black cap he wore to avoid looking people straight in the eyes. This is why Shuichi originally had very little confidence in his abilities, believing he just 'happened to solve the case faster than the police did' and that he truly dos not deserve his title of Ultimate Detective.
